The Industrial Partners and Associates program exists to help us keep in touch with business leaders who have a potential interest in partnering with the IAI to hire graduates, sponsor research, or work on collaborative projects. Industrial Partners are those who, during the past three years, have made substantial donations or have sponsored research at IAI through UGARF. Industrial Associates comprise all others who would like to stay in touch. Industrial Partners and Associates are normally appointed for three years at a time, renewable on expression of continued interest. If an Industrial Partner or Associate changes employers, he or she is invited both to designate a replacement at the original company, and to seek membership on behalf of the new company. Industrial Partners and Associates receive the AI Newsletter on paper as well as electronically; this will keep them apprised of current research projects and graduating students. (Many other people receive the Newsletter only electronically.) On request, Industrial Partners and Associates will receive copies of student theses and other published research that interests them. They are especially invited to contact us when recruiting, because we often know of students about to graduate whose accomplishments have not yet been reported in the Newsletter. The Industrial Partners and Associates do not all play the same role. Some are located so far away that on-site visits are unlikely; others are nearby and are likely to visit us frequently. We invite all Industrial Partners and Associates to stay in constant contact with faculty members with whom they share interests. Note: The list of Industrial Partners and Associates will not be published without the consent of each member. In some cases, companies may not want their affiliation or activities to be publicized. We are of course happy to help you publicize your affiliation with us if that is what you’d like to do.
