Assistant Professor, Financial Planning, Housing and Consumer Economics

Effie serves as an Assistant Professor and the Undergraduate Coordinator for all Financial Planning, Housing, and Consumer Economics majors and minors, and she is the liaison with the other UGA schools and colleges, other institutions of higher education, and the community.

Effie created the FACS Greece Study Abroad Program at the University of Georgia. Students from FACS and across UGA experience the country and its cultural heritage and take an in-depth look at the causes and aftermath of Greece’s recent financial crisis, including the current conditions and how consumers have been impacted.

Effie received a B.S. in Accounting and Finance from the University of Macedonia in Greece, an M.B.A. and Master's in Professional Accountancy from Georgia State University, and a Ph.D. in Personal Financial Planning from Kansas State University.
